01 General Food

1.1 General requirements

The National Food Safety Standard General Standard for the Labeling of Prepackaged Foods (GB 7718) stipulated the general requirements for the font height.

1) Mandatory labeling

When the largest surface area of packaging or container of the prepackaged food is more than 35 square centimeters, the minimum size of the words, symbols and numerals in the mandatory labeling information shall not be less than 1.8 mm in height.

2) Net content

The requirements for the font height of net content are shown in the table below.

3) Nutrition claim and nutrient function claim

They can be displayed anywhere on the label, but the size is not allowed to be larger than the name and trademark of the food.

1.2 Special requirements

In addition to some basic requirements stipulated in the National Food Safety Standard General Standard for the Labeling of Prepackaged Foods (GB 7718), other product standards also have specific requirements for some labeling contents, as shown in the table below.

02 Special Food

2.1 Infant and young children formula food, food for special medical purpose

Basis: National Food Safety Standard the Labeling of Prepackaged Foods for Special Dietary Uses (GB 13432)

Requirement: the content should comply with the basic requirements specified in GB 7718, as shown in '1.1 General Requirements' above.

2.2 Health food

Basis: Regulations on Labeling of Health Food, Guidelines for Labeling of Health Food Warning Words

Requirements:

l Name: should be marked in the obvious position of the "principal display panel" on the smallest sales package, parallel arrangement, font size can be different, but should be written in large or bold, should be correct, clear, prominent and larger than other content of the text.

l Logo: when the surface area of the "principal display panel" is > 100 square centimeters, the width of the widest part of the health food logo should not be less than 2cm;

l Unsuitable people: should be marked after "suitable people", and its font should be slightly larger than the content of "suitable people".

l Warning words: "Health food is not a drug, cannot replace drugs to treat diseases", the warning language area is located in the principal display panel of the smallest sales package (container), the area should not be less than 20% of its surface; The text in the warning language area has obvious color difference with the background of the warning language area, which is printed in boldface. When the surface area of the main display page is more than 100 square centimeters, the font height is not less than 6.0mm; When the surface area of the main display page is < 100 square centimeters, the minimum height of the font of the warning language should be changed in equal proportion to the above provisions.
