Analysis of Unqualified Foods in Sampling Inspection in 2021

In 2021, the State Administration for Market Regulation announced a total of 38 notices on unqualified foods in sampling inspection, involving 406 batches of unqualified foods. 1. Category of unqualified foods

With reference to the 2021 food safety sampling inspection plan, the inspected products are classified into 31 categories, among which unqualified batches were more found in edible agricultural products, fruit products, aquatic products, bee products, pastries and catering foods. 2. Reasons for non-conformity

The reasons for non-conformity mainly include microorganism exceeding standards, illegal use of food additives and non-conforming physical and chemical indicator. The details are shown below:

3. Place of origin

The places or countries of origin of unqualified products include Malaysia, Ukraine, the United States and Thailand.

4. Summary of non-conformity of special foods

In 2021, 16 batches of unqualified special foods were notified, including 10 batches of health food, where the Kamblex Calcium + VD3 Tablets produced by PHARMA-REX, INC. were found with non-conformity in vitamin D3, and 6 batches of infant and young children formulas. Some products from the same batch were found with multiple non-conforming items. The details are as follows:
