On October 13, 2020, the NHC and the SAMR jointly issued a notice on Releasing 38 National Food Safety Standards and 4 Amendments including the National Food Safety Standard Food Fragrance (GB 30616-2020). These standards and amendments include 22 quality specifications and standards for food additives, 10 quality specifications and standards for nutritional fortification substances, 9 test method standards and National Food Safety Standard Food Cold Chain Logistics Hygiene Specification. These standards will take effect on March 11, 2021.
According to the Announcement on the Designation of 14 Food Additive Product Standards for Cholecalciferol and Other Food Additives issued by the former NHFPC, the product standards for 14 nutritional fortification substances, such as cholecalciferol, Phytonadione and cyanocobalamin, will be implemented in accordance with the relevant quality requirements and test methods of the Pharmacopoeia. The product standards for nutritional fortification substances such as cholecalciferol, cyanocobalamin, niacinamide, ferrous sulfate, ferrous fumarate, and sodium iodide are released, and the implementation standards for these nutritional fortification substances will also change.
