On May 22, the Third session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee opened in Beijing. Food is a common concern of the whole society. In the Committee, some suggestions and opinions of representatives and members on foods have attracted much attention.

 

Encourage enterprises to develop and strengthen the local cheese industry

 

By accelerating the development of the cheese industry, encouraging enterprises to produce concentrated milk, and improving the level of deep processing of dairy products, etc., new fields of dairy consumption will be explored, structural reform of dairy production and consumption will be promoted, and national nutrition and health will be comprehensively improved.

 

In addition, its need to accelerate the approval of health food, especially to enhance immunity products, such as probiotics, prebiotics health food. Reasonably adjust the management model of health care products in China to give consumers more autonomy to choose, and speed up the launch of functional food products, thereby promoting the high quality and healthy development of the dairy industry in many aspects.

 

Improve “health capacity”

 

It’s necessary to increase the promotion and popularization of “healthy drinking milk” at the national level, provide subsidies for special groups to drink milk, encourage support for the development of domestic dairy product enterprises, and promote the construction of China’s nutrition and health standardization system, thereby raising the health level of the entire industry and protecting public health.

 

Encourage technological innovation in the nutrition and health industry

 

It’s recommended that the State should increase investment in science and technology in the field of nutrition and health, establish certain policies on the research for this field, encourage enterprises to participate in industry-related scientific research and innovation, and optimize investment environment.

 

Address food safety fundamentally

 

It’s recommended that strengthen supervision by including small market entities in the food safety red and black list system.

 

Increase policy support to promote the revival of catering after the epidemic

 

It’s recommended to implement a “voluntary recall” system, food enterprises who stop production, business, and implement food recalls in accordance with the Food Safety Law, or implement effective measures to reduce or eliminate food safety risks without causing harmful consequences, can be mitigated or reduced punishment. It helps to reduce the rate of unqualified in food safety supervision and sampling, and increase public satisfaction with food safety.

 

Prohibit the transport of live animals and poultry, and promote chilled fresh meat

 

It’s suggested to development of a mandatory chilled fresh meat circulation and distribution system as a key support development range for cold chain logistics, and include it in the national logistics hub construction plan and emergency logistics key construction projects.

 

Increase investment in cold chain logistics

 

It’s proposed to increase the investment in cold storage and refrigerated trucks, establish cold chain logistics standard system and information system, accelerate the further development of cold chain market.
