The General Quality of Biscuit (GB/T 20980-2021) was implemented on June 1, 2022. The standard adjusted the classification of semi hard biscuit, cookie, sandwich (or filled) biscuit, wafer and decorated biscuits, and added "sandwiched (or filled) biscuits, decoration biscuits and biscuit crumb shall be marked with the classification name of a single biscuit at the same time. Biscuit manufacturers should print biscuit packaging materials in accordance with the new version of the standard.
Since the release of the new version of the standard, biscuit manufacturers have actively adopted various methods such as promotion to speed up the digestion of the old packaging materials. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19, some biscuit manufacturers still have a large number of old packaging materials in stock. In order to implement the decision-making and deployment on coordinating epidemic prevention and control and economic development, help enterprises to solve difficulties and reduce resource waste, it is agreed that biscuit manufacturers extend the use of old packaging materials until February 28, 2023.
